Pre-School

Our Pre-School facilities and highly trained staff are here to give your children the highest level of care and attention helping them to develop in a safe, stimulating and secure environment. We have close links with our neighbour Brington C of E Primary School helping to provide a smooth transition to school.

We aim to:

  • Ensure our resources and activities are well chosen, stimulating and enjoyable
  • Provide a secure and comfortable environment that is open, accessible and inclusive
  • Promote a sociable atmosphere where talk is central to the learning process
  • Provide a settled and suitable daily routine
  • Provide an atmosphere where parents and carers feel involved
  • Ensure that adults working with children are open-minded, responsive and evaluative

Starting Pre-School

When your child starts Pre-School they will be allocated their own coat peg and drawer.  We would like your child to feel free to enjoy some messy activities and learn to be independent going to the toilet, so please choose clothes that are easily washable and that they can manage by themselves.

Our emphasis in on learning though play, social interaction, enjoyment and trying a good range of activities involving the Seven Areas of LearningClick on the links below to find out more:

Rising 5s

For children who are in their last year at Pre-School before staring Primary school, we have more focused activities on a Tuesday afternoon within the seven areas of learning, especially literacy and numeracy.  We also have many links throughout the year with the Reception class teacher of Brington C of E Primary School, including visits to the school, helping to ensure a smooth transition from Pre-School to Primary school.
